Beginner Yoga Series

This class puts focus on the proper execution of asanas (postures), breathing, and yoga principles. Training begins by developing a mastery of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) and Pranayama (breathing practices).

Breathwork & Restorative Workshop with Erin

Join us for this rejuvenating 2-hour yoga session. This workshop will allow you to draw into a deeper place inside yourself as you are guided through various breathing techniques and supported restful yoga postures.
One way to master stress is to be aware of your breathing. When we are stressed we take short, shallow breaths. The resulting lack of oxygen restricts blood flow and causes muscles to tense. The way you breathe affects your whole body. Full, deep breathing is an effective way to reduce tension, feel relaxed, and reduce stress.
Breathwork techniques are useful because you can do them anywhere and anytime. Focusing attention on your breath serves the meditative function of allowing the mind to easily release distressing thoughts and emotions.
Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation and balance with the aid of props (blankets, pillows). The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body. While some restorative yoga poses are beneficial to the entire body, others target specific parts of the body, such as the heart or the lungs.
Information for new students:
- Brand new students should sign a release form directly with the Alluvian Spa prior to taking classes at Studio A.
- All payments are handled directly through the Alluvian Spa at the front desk.
- Attire: comfortable, loose fitting clothing may be worn and bare feet.
- Please no street shoes inside practice space.
- Mats and water are provided; though it is encouraged you bring your own.
- Please enter studio quietly and respectfully as another class may be in session.
